    Steve Taylor has been performing with the Louisville Orchestra as a Violinist in the first violin section for more than 30 years. A native of Toledo, Ohio he graduated from the University of Toledo in Violin Performance and was a member of the Toledo Symphony while in college. He later joined the Louisville Orchestra and attended graduate school at the University of Louisville (UofL).

 

Stephen studied conducting, jazz arranging and violin at UofL. He later continued his conducting studies at the Conductor’s Guild Summer Institutes at the University of West Virginia and at the University of South Carolina.  

 

 Mr. Taylor is a founding member of the Kentucky Center Chamber Players and taught for 10 years as an instructor of Violin and Viola at Bellarmine University.  He also founded the Louisville Sinfonietta. 

 

    Enjoying broad musical interests Mr. Taylor performs regularly as a violinist of the Swing Time Moods Band.  He is also the first violinist with the Interlude String Quartet and maintains an active schedule booking events with his music agency, SMT Music. A few years ago Steve co-founded the performing arts series Music at St. Paul, which featured chamber music and orchestra music with area professional musicians.

 

    Mr. Taylor also enjoys performing in one of the string quartets formed for the local Jefferson County education outreach programs for the Louisville Orchestra. Here he has an opportunity to use a bit of his latent literary talent as he writes scripts and music for the programs that are presented to 4th and 5th grade children in local schools.
 

    A talented arranger and composer Mr. Taylor has proudly had his music performed by the Columbus Symphony and the Louisville Orchestra.  

 

    All the arrangements in the CD "I've Dreamed of You" featured on this website were arranged by Stephen Taylor. He wanted to produce a CD that could be recreated by live musicians at your wedding.

 

     Non Music activities: During the off season Mr. Taylor enjoys hiking and fishing at a family cabin in Ontario, Canada. “There’s always plenty of work to do building and repairing the outbuildings and maintaining the cabin, which I enjoy". In addition to playing the violin Mr. Taylor has discovered a new passion, dancing Argentine Tango.

• Bands: I am the liaison between you, the band leader and the venue.  My priority is to make sure everything is on target. Other agencies merely act as a booking agent. They collect their commission and go to the next score. Again my priority is to insure all the details are properly coordinated. I take care of your interests and I also take care of the musicians.
